Junior Church

Meets each Sunday, except when the whole Church Family worships together.

Age-related learning is offered in small groups with a variety of enjoyable activities, for those of school age.

A crèche is also available each week, though parents may also stay with their young child if they wish.

On each of the ‘all-age’ Sundays, there is a younger children’s family activity area provided alongside the worshipping congregation.

The teens group now follows a new study programme, and is known as “Y @ C”.

All those working with children and young people have clear CRB certificates, as required (see Safeguarding page).

Please contact David Hood or a member of the Church Team for more information.

Y @ C & Cheese

This is the Y @ C intro… complete with Cheese. Together, we are the Sunday People.

We meet every Sunday morning (11am to 12ish) for fun and crazy type activities!!

Y @ C has been joined by a new group, called “Cheese” because – so we’re told - CHurch Equals Extremely Sensational Enjoyment.

It’s a great chance to meet, discuss and see what people are up to.  So please come along and join in!  See ya there!

Several members of the Y @ C group belong to “Brokenfor”. See our Other Groups page for more information.

4th Norwich Boys Brigade

Since 1949, when the 4th Norwich was formed, there has been an opportunity for boys and young men to meet on a Wednesday evening with the Boys’ Brigade at Sprowston Methodist Church (off Wroxham Road).  The Boys’ Brigade is a Uniformed Christian Youth Organisation which was formed way back in 1883, but is still relevant and as needed in our modern times.

At the 4th we encourage any boy at any age to join us in fun and fellowship through a wide ranging programme of informal education to promote the “object” of the BB and to build lifelong skills and make lifelong friends.

The BB Object
“The advancement of Christ’s kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.”

We meet every Wednesday evening (during School term time) from 6:15pm to 7:30pm for the Anchor Section (5-8 years) and Junior Section (8-11 years) boys, and 7pm through to 8:30pm for the older Company/Sections.

All our staff are volunteers and are appointed by the Church Council and have clear CRB disclosure, many of whom have been members of the organisation through their childhood!

For more information about the 4th should you wish to join please contact our current Captain, Mr S Butterfield by calling 01603 405544 or Mrs Jackie Lawrence on 01603 427560

In early October 2008, we celebrated 125 years of Boys’ Brigade with a special 11.00am service.

In June 2009, we were thrilled to present three young men with the Queen’s Badge, and a fourth with the President’s Badge. These are tremendous achievements. Well done to all!
