Purpose Statement Sprowston Methodist Church believes that all disciples of Jesus are called to be faithful and fruitful in their lives and this must be outworked not only in terms of worship, fellowship and care, but also in terms of mission, through using God's gifts. Sprowston Methodist Church sees its mission in terms of developing a process of disciple-making that will incorporate "not-yet-believers" and encourage Christian maturity in mission among all its members - by serving and witnessing - in the power of the Spirit. Pastoral
For more than two centuries, members of the Methodist Church have been in the pastoral care of "Class Leaders" and "Pastoral Visitors", so that none should be forgotten or without opportunity for spiritual counsel. This continues to be an important aspect of our church life. Every member of this local church is assigned to a local care group and is therefore part of a shared network of pastoral care, through personal involvement in their group, which is led by a Pastoral Visitor. Safeguarding
Every effort is taken to safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults who are involved in church-based activities and other activities on church premises. Children and young people need to be respected as individuals, and protected in their vulnerability - as do all who are vulnerable, irrespective of age. In response to the Children Act 1989 and Home Office guidance for voluntary organisations involved with children, “Safe From Harm” (1993), the Methodist Church first published its welfare standard in 1994 – “Safeguarding”. Testimony
Christian faith is centred upon the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and is all about a living relationship with Him. His death upon the cross remains an historical fact. His resurrection has been the central feature of the incredible Christian message ever since "the third day" (when He was raised from the dead).
